Modern Slavery Policy
Policy Statement
Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It is growing and often hidden issues in our society. FWS Direct takes its responsibility in minimising issues very seriously and we have a long-standing commitment to protecting human rights and ensure people are treated fairly.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business.
Our philosophy at FWS Direct is to treat all customers, suppliers and employees with respect.
Responsibility for the policy
As an organisation, FWS Direct recognises that sourcing and acquisition operations especially globally pose a potential risk for slavery and human trafficking. Each supply chain has unique risks, and it is critical that our internal assessment processes assess these risks in order to respond quickly and efficaciously when necessary. We expect high standards from all of our suppliers and other business partners.
We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business. We acknowledge that we must remain vigilant to the risks and ensure that our suppliers understand and play their part in ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking does not take place in our business.
This policy applies to all persons working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, managers, external consultants, third-party representatives and business partners.
Training
To minimise the risks of slavery and human trafficking at FWS Direct, we aim to give training, where necessary to all relevant members of staff. This is continued to be renewed/updated on an annual basis.
Measuring Effectiveness
Over the next 12 months our main objective is to continue to manage the reduction of the risk of modern slavery by continuing to manage the risks within FWS Direct. Our strategy will be to focus on changing risks and be responsive as possible to any new risks to make sure we act immediately to address any concerns.
As part of our ongoing risk assessment and due diligence processes, we will consider whether circumstances warrant us carrying out audits of suppliers for their compliance with our Modern Slavery Policy.
Breaches of this policy
If we find that other individuals or organisations working on our behalf have breached this policy, we will ensure that we take appropriate action.
We may terminate our relationship with other individuals and organisations working on our behalf if they breach this policy.
